San Sebastián is a long Objective campaign built around explosives, a lift, rooftop movement, several holdouts, and a final sacrifice. The official Roblox badges confirm two key goals: Forlorn Hope for escaping in Objective mode in one life and Vos Enterrement for lowering the platform with the winch so the team can escape.
Prepare the team
Bring a balanced group: Infantry for distant Bombers and Runners, Sapper for holdouts, Surgeon for attrition, and enough flexible players to carry planks and operate mechanisms. Decide before the finale who will take the winch sacrifice. A badge runner protecting Forlorn Hope should not be forced into the sacrifice role.
Reload before every prompt that opens a new area. San Sebastián has scripted pressure and long transitions. Keep at least one rear guard while other players manipulate the objective.
Leave the fort and bridge the pit
Raise the opening gate and descend through the fort route. The team reaches a gunpowder shed that must be blown up. Back away from the structure before the explosion; the blast can kill nearby players. Afterward, collect three planks from the debris and place them across the spike pit.
Split the job. Two or three players carry planks while the rest cover approaches. Do not crowd the placement point. Continue down the path carefully because current community documentation identifies a scripted Runner event near a shed and a respawn point in this part of the route.
Operate the lift and breach the wall
At the wall above the town, use the winch or capstan to raise the lift carrying explosive barrels. Turn the barrels and roll them toward the blocking wall. Wait for the safe prompt state, clear nearby players, and shoot the barrels to open the route. The explosion is lethal at close range.
Lower the lift again to retrieve the hay bale, then raise it. Push the bale over the breached wall so players can use it to break the fall. This interaction needs cooperation; the current community route notes that a true solo completion is not possible because one player must operate the lift while another handles the bale.
Cross the town and rooftops
Move through the town until the holdout prompt begins. Sappers should build without blocking the route the team will use after the defense. Keep a loaded firearm for Bombers. When the holdout ends, continue through the building and rooftop path, then drop through the marked opening. Eligible dead players can return at the later room documented as another respawn point.
The route then reaches the lower fort. Use the rocket mechanism to clear the first obstruction, push the next gate, and destroy the four locks on the following door. Regroup before entering the final fort. This is the last useful time to heal, reload, and name the sacrifice volunteer.
Barry and the platform holdout
Inside the fort, interact with Barry so he begins the platform sequence and signals HMS Undaunted. Hold the area while the platform rises. Keep the center clear for movement, defend the Sapper line, and remove Runners before they pin support players.
When Barry calls the team onto the platform, board and wait. Do not jump early. The scripted sequence ends Barry’s operation and leaves the mechanism unfinished. One player must leave the platform route, climb to the winch, and lower the remaining survivors.
Take the winch sacrifice
The designated volunteer uses the winch and remains behind. The official Vos Enterrement description specifically requires lowering the platform so the team can escape. Communicate “I take winch” before moving; multiple volunteers reduce the defense and may confuse the badge attempt.
The sacrifice succeeds as a team action only if survivors finish the escape. Everyone else descends toward the beach. The volunteer should focus on keeping enemies away from the mechanism long enough for the platform to complete rather than trying to follow afterward.
Beach holdout and escape
Survivors defend the shoreline until the rescue boat arrives. Stay out of deep water because the current route documentation identifies it as lethal. Preserve a clear boarding path and do not chase enemies away from the team. When the boat reaches the shore, board promptly.
For Forlorn Hope, the personal condition is escaping San Sebastián in one life. A respawned completion can still help the team, but it does not satisfy the official one-life wording. The winch volunteer pursues Vos Enterrement instead.
Common failures
- Standing too close to the gunpowder shed or wall barrels.
- Sending every player to the planks, lift, or hay bale and leaving no rear guard.
- Starting the town holdout before support is ready.
- Rushing the rooftop drop and isolating the first player below.
- Boarding the platform without a named winch volunteer.
- Sending a Forlorn Hope runner to the sacrifice by accident.
- Entering deep water during the beach defense.
Verification
Forlorn Hope and Vos Enterrement are Official badge conditions from Roblox. The detailed route is Community corroborated by the current Guts & Blackpowder Wiki and a current independent walkthrough, checked October 30, 2026. Exact enemy timing, respawn grace, rewards, and prompt text can change and need live testing.
Continue with the Objective mode guide, Runner guide, or Soldier’s Grace guide if the sacrifice is part of your Chaplain unlock.
